Transmogrifier allow copying of folders

Erich S. said: It was insinuated a while back, maybe a year ago, that this would be finally resolved in Jumpgate.  Maybe they will give us the ability to move folders in Jumpgate.  Maybe? That's what i'm hoping. But they've mostly been silent on this since then.
I wonder how much the high turnover at Roll20 affects initiatives like this? I noticed that the fellow who replied on this thread a year ago no longer shows as "Roll20 Team" but a lowly "Pro" user like ourselves. Searles is his name if I recall.  Did the work to make this pretty enough go out the door with him?

That'd make sense why so many projects seem to take forever and about every update is full of bugs if they have such a high turnover lately. 0_O
Roll20 please we still need this. :)
For the same issue, i made a copy of my main campaign and then i deleted all the maps. This means the game maitained all macros, APIs, and monsters including all macros and settings and all i had to is upload new maps

Once again, I find myself working on a game with Roll20, and once again its so much effort I see so many opportunities to improve the experience. I have a bunch of campaign info on a vastly over-sized campaign i am playing, that I made before I really understood some of the finer workings (limitations) of the platform. Now I want to bring a selection of content from that game into the much leaner smaller game I have set up to run just one Chapter of that campaign. Managable and neat. But omfg, I have to bring every separate page over - every single thing in the world, without any organisation other than an a-z index, and then i have to recreate folders and re-organise everything by hand.  Please f or the love of "why-are-we-paying-for-this" give us this improvement. Please. Plllleeeaaase! Organisation is the heart of content management - we need it! R20 needs it badly! would benefit from it a lot!

I have several hundred maps in a dozen or so folders. It would be so nice to have the ability to move the folders. The new improvement to condense categories in the transmogrifier is fluff compared to the heavy lifting it takes to move and re-order hundreds of maps much less handouts and such.

It worked well enough.  Simply  being able to see the folders and sheets would be huge if they don't want people moving whole folders. But NOTHING has been done. :/ It's baffling. Even the tool "characters" where you can port in your sheets doesn't have folders or any way to organize things. I guess they're cheaping out on storage?? I'm just baffled constantly on this.
+1
It's nice to see that Roll20 is still rolling out changes to the system: primarily for the newest games and such. Yet they won't finish this working process so everyone can use it. If I played Daggerhard I am sure this new range thing would be great. But does it help anyone else? No, not really. 4th bubble on tokens? I'm all for it and I can use it myself. Being able to move folders of handouts, maps, characters, etc would surely trump all that in my opinion.

Or at the very least make it so we can organize things better or view what things are when we're moving.  We've been able to move character sheets out of game to store for awhile but no way to really organize them. That'd be a simple one.  The endless wait is real.
Sure would be nice to move all of my folders from game to game without having to track if hundreds of maps and such copied over correctly.

Please roll20 please please please~
Mr. NumNums said: Please roll20 please please please~  An option to see folders and what characters are in said folders would be useful at the very least.  If the idea of moving the whole folder scares the devs due to heavy load or soemthing (although we can copy games so i don't see that being a real problem) It'd be a nice compromise.
+1 I need this!!!
With the introduction of the "Elite" subscription where electronic pack rats can keep even more stuff on Roll20: the issue of moving even more data between games is even more important. I have close to a thousand maps Roll20 and another hundred or so in the works. It becomes burdensome to move each one, one at a time, and hope they make it. Roll20 has given people the ability to make their collections larger and now need to give us the ability to move items easier.

There needs to be something better.  I'd settle with simply being able to view the sheets to transfer easier. Just the names without pictures or knowing what folders they're in when trying to transfer is annoying.  I end up having to screenshot my games for later transfers.  We still need this.
I agree 100%. I would also like the ability to share my personally owned content that doesn't violate copyright with other GM's tables. Suppose I write a table to randomize encounters. It takes me 10 hours. I would like to share it with a GM in a game in which I play...but without using API or some other work around, I cannot. It would be nice to move it with the Transmogrifier. Interesting, went looking for the post where Roll20 admitted to having a working prototype yet could not find it. Fortunately someone else had captured it:

It is great that Roll20 has finally given us map pins. That allows us to pin all sorts of handouts to maps.  Boy, it sure would be nice to have a way to move all of those handouts from game to game...
