Post Character Sheets Here! (Archived, Closed 1/12/18)

I have read the Basic Rules/FAQ. I have read the New Player Checklist. I have downloaded the Portable Compendium or have access to the Online Compendium. Below is a link to my character sheet which I have made using the above resources. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1067416 (re)Posting this for bookkeeping purposes. It's a different mythweavers link than before, and I kept in contact with baldhermit through the changing process. Journal is already set up, ability macros for the sheet above should already be in place too, character just needs a token. Would also appreciate honest judgement on whether this is a Controller or Defender. Current and intended plans take it in both directions, so I'm unsure.

Since you are working with Bald, I'll leave this for him to check up on. Edit: At a glance I would say very much more of a defender than a controller.

I already have a spare journal that I can use for it. With the exception of the damage/attack workspace should be for 2 specific things, looks good. Also, not sure why you have STR as something listed as, from what I can see, you have no STR based attacks (including MBA). Lead by Example is a STR-based daily (although i'd want to miss with it); it was a toss-up between putting that (str, weapon) or Delban's (cha, implement) as the second thing in the workspace. But I got them all in the quick lookup anyway.

Gary M said: Need a max value for temporary hit points Need Passives filled out (PP is Passive Perception for example) You seem to be missing most of your skills. Also the method you have for the skills listed is acceptable, but not preferred. It is very highly recommended that you add an expression for situational bonuses to attack and damage rolls into your macros. A simple ?{Attack Bonus|0} and the same for damage bonus will be something you constantly use in play and it makes it easier on the DM to know what your real numbers are instead of having to explain why 21 v AC for 12 damage is actually 23 v AC for 17 damage. You don't need to say damage is untyped This is not a correction but just a preference thing. Either use all active voice or none. "She attacks for X v AC. If I hit I deal 23 damage, and get an effect until the end of your next turn". Having all three in the same power is really mind-bending to read. I would go with all or nothing. "She attacks for X v AC, dealing 23 damage if she hits and giving X effect until the end of her next turn." Or make it all 'I'. You don't need to put the extra requirement in for Rain of Blows. Tempest dance is a great example of putting situationals in it ?{Granting Combat Advantage|3} on those damage rolls could be nice as a way to remind you that you deal 3 more to those granting CA and also giving the final number closer to the total the DM needs to keep moving. You can also macro in crits into the abilities or you can have a macro that prompts you for a crit. Having your crit give us a total is nice. For example you could have the above attack deal 23 damage (Crit: 29) or you can have your crit macro prompt you for max damage on what you just crit with so it outputs a total number for the DM rather than just your crit dice. Thank's for the feedback! I've made the following adjustments: 1. I input max value for temporary hit points. Just put my max HP total. I'll update it to whatever my current max is every time I level up. Hopefully this a good system. 2. Passives filled out. 3. The way I've done it is definitely unwieldy. I just put the skills I would use most, but I changed my method for skills to be a type-in prompt (Method 3). I have my sheet on me at all times during play anyway so it's probably the best way. 4. Added situational bonuses for attack and damage rolls. 5. Ah, I missed some. Removed the last instances of untyped damage. 6. That actually bugs me big time too so I changed it all to she/her, ect. 7. Removed the extra requirement for Rain of Blows. 8. Added granting CA prompt for Tempest Dance. Also split the attack and damage rolls to separate macros to account for CA with less headaches. 9. Added max damage prompt for my crit macros. Also built in crit rolls for multi-hit skills such as Rain of Blows and Tempest Dance to avoid confusion on which damage expressions the DM needs to take into account.

None of the macros were set up as token actions. I changed this. Text for you neck item as referring to your bonus to Saving Throws is incomplete. Not sure if you understand the difference, or thought it would be obvious to all and abbreviated too much. Sword burst deals typed damage, which is missing from the macro Who is "their" in Shadow Jaunt? Mark of the Vigilante unclear. Are you listing the duration of the stance or the duration of the mark ? Aegis of Assault and Warlocks Curse are listed twice. I will ignore the faulty ones. Decree of Khirad: given we do not use power card formatting, I think this is much clearer: .....If the attack hits, each target makes a melee basic attack as a free action against a creature of Daevrim's choice. <line break> If the target misses with its attack, or I miss it with mine, the original target takes [[1d6 + @{Cha} + @{Enhancement} + ?{dmg bonus|0}]] psychic damage. Swordmage Shield Fire deals typed damage which you did not list. Please let a DM know when you're done with these changes.

Swordmage Shield Fire deals typed damage which you did not list. Please let a DM know when you're done with these changes. 1: Apologies, I haven't been using any macros as token actions when I play, so I didn't enable that. 2: Also not sure. Updated the text slightly to say "saving throws" instead of "saves". 3: Adjusted to include damage type. 4: Adjusted. Was an artifact from previous terminology, should be clearer now. 5: Adjusted, hopefully to satisfaction. 6: I decided to make the macros twice, one as a "full" list of effects that I could use if needed for whatever reason, and one as a shorter appliance that doesn't fill the chat box. 7: Adjusted text. "I" in my current terminology doesn't make sense, so I made it into "If this attack or the target's attack misses it takes x psychic damage." 8: Adjusted to include damage type.
Well, at #2: This :" +2 vs poison, weakened, slowed, and/or immobilized." is by far not as comprehensive as the actual benefit of "+2 item bonus to saving throws against effects with the poison keyword and effects that render you weakened, slowed, or immobilized." At #5: Mark of the Vigilante is not Shadow Step. Probably too quick with copying. The text itself is clearer. At #6 : Aegis of Assault (not the Apply version) has superfluous text at the bottom. Warlocks Curse (not the Apply version) has unnecessary complex language at the bottom. Suggestion : " After a successful attack with a Warlock attack power, and after making the damage roll, Daevrim may choose to apply 1d6 extra damage to a cursed enemy."

It's less compressed and is hopefully clearer. 5: Did not notice that, thanks. Fixed header for MotV. 6: Moved finishing text on Aegis(full version) nearer to the beginning. Updated Warlock's Curse(full version) with recommendation.

You do not have elven accuracy macroed You are missing your macro for your arcane implement mastery You are missing your macro for the staff of the war mage You are missing your macro for your second level utility power You are missing your macro for Feyleaf Sandals You are missing your macro for the power on your Apprentice wand. If you chose a mechanical background I do not see it on your sheet so I cannot say whether you are missing something from it. Please fix and reply.

For example you are going to run out of space for your feats pretty much immediately. Names and the level you took them are all you need. Everything else looks good. Thank you for taking the time to break everything down and make my life easy to check things. I greatly appreciate it. I'll toss you a journal entry in game so you can get started on your macros.
Thanks for checking that for me. I had hoped that doing it that way would make it easier. I didn't plan on using the descriptions for long, just a session or two until i can remember what everything does at a glance.

Generally speaking your mythweaver's sheet is just for reference. You will keep it as a reference for yourself and others to use by putting it on the census. The actual nuts and bolts of things are, generally speaking, in your macros. You are welcome to keep it as is, just keep in mind that having everything written out that way will not be feasible in the long run.

All of his sorcerer powers have the same attack bonus, and he will never take a non-lazy warlord power. I put in his dagger RBA as a placeholder, but he is unlikely to ever use it since his Acid Orb does more damage and functions as both MBA and RBA thanks to Reaper's Touch. I did calculate the secondary damage from his Flame Spiral and included it in the workspace since that will likely come up often. 2. Added stat array and noted level 4 stat bumps. 3. Added descriptions on his powers. 4. Added some descriptions of his appearance and personality. He really is more than just numbers, but it might take a few sessions for me to get a handle on the character. 5. Added remaining gold. The updated sheet is at http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1070194

Update: Thank you for checking my PC sheet for paragon, baldhermit. My macros may need checking or not. I condensed old ones and added some new ones.

It adds it by default but shielding blade does not provide the bonus to reflex, only ac. 3: Please designate what weapon type you are wielding and what armor type you are wearing. IE: Fullblade and Hide. Apply appropriate ACP/Speed penalty for the armor. 4: Your attack calculations appear to be adding +4 str instead of +5. 5: I recommend listing deadly rage underneath conditional modifiers, in addition to adding your expertise conditional bonus 6: What in the world is the list of numbers in conditional modifiers. 7: Your feat bonus to damage should be +2 from goliath greatweapon prowess. 8: Please put class features in the class feature section. 9: Keep track of current exp(should start at 5500). 10: While you are not required to choose a mechanical background or theme, I recommend you do so. Never turn down free stuff.

You should have magic armor. Armor, weapon, neck should be your first three purchases. You have a longsword in your quick look up but not in your items. You also have a dagger there as well. You also did not say what type of bow your weapon is, although I assume it is a longbow (please mark it as such). Quickdraw gives a feat bonus to initiative. Improved Initiative also gives a feat bonus to initiative. Instead of stacking, you take the highest. So +4 misc to initiative and not +6. Also Quickdraw is not an expertise feat so you need to fix that. You seem to be adding mod+half level to some places you should only be adding in modifier. For example your surges/day should be 7 as your con is 1 and you are a ranger. Your hit points appear off, please break down how you got that number. You did not take a theme or mechanical background. While they are not required it is an option you have available and something that will help round out your character. You need a second at-will. I mean Twinstrike is amazing, but also you need to have a second one of some kind. Your utility power is level 2, not level 1 You did not add your enhancement to your attack workspace for your bow. The prof of a longsword is +3 not +2. Your strength mod is -1, not +1. (Attack and damage workspace) You should make your workspace have these two abilities: Twinstrike and Ranged Basic Attack. The difference between the two is important. Do not worry about writing down how many mundane arrows you have. Save the sheet space. Why leather armor over hide? Fix and respond to each of those pieces (in list form please to again make my life easy). A good first shot at the character.

You also need your array, racial stat bonus and level 4 stat bonus on your sheet somewhere (preferably in the statistic block section instead of having it generate a mass of stuff for you). I could successfully reverse engineer it, but I shouldn't have to. HT: Two-blade Fighting Style also gives you Toughness which should be listed in your sheet somewhere. Your HP has taken it into account but you don't have it listed anywhere. Rhythm Blade is an enchant available only on Light Blades. Bastard Sword is a Heavy Blade, so you need to change your offhand. Yrmeila Moonsword Welcome to the Guild! Keep in mind that this is a checkpoint in developing your character. While we can give you a little feedback of how it is going so far, the purpose of this thread is to give you a thumbs up to start working on your macros and get you a journal entry. So if you are missing a large part needed for that process (Equipment is going to change all your numbers and needs review: See the Rhythm Blade Bastard Sword in the previous post), we cannot approve your character. Although, upon review of the character itself, the items seem complete (Although the spear is likely to change in one way or another). If you have Battle Cleric's Lore you do not have Healer's Lore. You seem to say that you have Healer's Lore in your conditional modifiers section You have not selected a Theme or Mechanical Background. While neither are required it is something that does help you round out the character You need to have a Backstory of some kind I'm not sure what Devout Priest Expertise is supposed to be. I assume you meant Devout Protector Expertise, but that does nothing for you as you must be using a shield to gain the benefits. Even if you were able to gain the benefits it would not stack with Versatile Expertise. Assuming you are planning on using a 2handed spear you likely want Mighty Crusader's Expertise. You currently have a 1 handed weapon and nothing in the other hand, it is highly recommended that you use both of your hands for something. Since there may be some confusion on how typed bonuses work, a feat bonus and a feat bonus to not stack. More over a Power bonus and a Power bonus do not stack. Just keep in mind things cannot benefit from both your Armor and your Shield of Faith at the same time. This is not a correction but a reminder. Shield bonus gives your bonus to AC and Reflex. As a Battle Cleric you only get the bonus to AC. So instead of writing the +2 in shield, you should put it under Misc AC bonus. You need to complete your attack and damage workspace.

Rhythm Blade was a rapier in the quick look up but a bastard sword in the Equipment list. Changed to Rapier on both. 5. Yeah, I actually ran out of gp buying stuff and totally forgot about armor. It's the next thing on my shopping list once I can afford some level 2 magic armor at least. Though Rhythm Blade's got me covered for now. 6. Added enhancement bonus to Baffling Cape. It's a +1.

Done, I thought the attack workspace was the part that covered the basic attack, sorry about that 13. Done 14. I prefer not to have a check penalty over the loss of 1 armor Ad 1 : Even a magic +1 hide armor will give you a +2 AC for 360 gp from what you currently have. Meaning it would decrease the chance of getting hit by about 16%. Ad 3 : Quick draw is still listed on the sheet. You need to lose one of the 4 feats you currently have listed (quick draw, lethal hunter, improved initiative, weapon focus) in favor of an expertise feat. In the new player check list, step 8, expertise feats are explained and specifically named. Ad 5 : Please do not just fix your HP score (which would still be incorrectly listing 37 right now) but also explain how you got to that or any other number. We cannot see what mistake you make, we cannot help you fix it. Ad 6 : backgrounds and themes can both be found in the compendium. Background can for example be "raised in a forest" giving you a +2 to nature skill checks. Add 9 : Look up the weapon in the compendium, fill out the attack and damage work space box by box. As it currently stands, the calculations for attack and damage work space for both weapons is not correct. Ad 10 : Not done. If you have any questions, or just want to chat D&D, you can also look up one of the DMs on Skype and get added to the Guild chat. My handle is baldhermit.

Since this is the third field where I see a number off when compared to your constitution score, did you perhaps change the Con and forgot to do the rest of the math again ? 5) As a human, you seem to be missing a feat 6) class features : how did you get access to Armor of Faith? 7) other items: Aside of the fact you are using this field not for mundane (non-magic) gear you might have bough and instead list features of gear already listed under the magic items on page 2, I cannot find where you would get a -5 penalty to ranged attacks targetting you. 8) I cannot make out from your text if you did or did not pick a background. These are not mandatory but can give your character more flavor and or power. Through Hybrid Talent Feat that I forgot to write down 7. Fixed - It's an item property bonus from a +1 Cloak of Distortion 8. Fixed - I picked the Auspicious Birth background and wrote something that matches with it Writing "Fixed" is usually very unhelpful. Saying what you did to solve the problem is much more likely to be helpful to the DM, especially when you have to go through a couple steps of review. Check It is still incorrect. Starting HP is based on your Wisdom SCORE not mod. Also your healing surge value should be half your bloodied value (currently it is not which is also incorrect). Your armor bonus of 3 seems to be written in two different places which gives you the bonus twice. Your actual AC should be Base+Dexmod+Half Level+3+Enhancement. 10+1+2+3+1 = 17. Which means at-level monsters hit you on a 7. I'd avoid melee if I were you (Or take HT: Armor from Invoker for Chain as that would actually give you the +6 to AC you are mistakenly adding currently.) Check Check, make sure whichever feat you added is correctly counted in (I honestly didn't check). Check The item in question gives you an item bonus to all defenses against ranged attacks from more than 5 squares. Keep in mind the following: The item bonus is equal to the enhancement of the item (So a +1 cloak gives +1 to all defenses). It is only against Ranged attacks. Bursts, blasts, monsters with long flailing tentactles need not apply. It is a bonus to your defenses, not a penalty to their attacks. This is important because it will not stack with other item bonuses to defenses. Check. You did not pick a theme but that is not required. My own note: Maledictor's doom is the Channel Divinity for your covenant. Which you don't get as a hybrid unless you take the Hybrid talent (which you instead took the Avenger one). Again, saying 'fixed' is very unhelpful esp when it continues to be wrong as the burden is then placed upon us to either fully explain everything or try to correctly reverse engineer your mistakes in order to fix them. If you just say "I did this" it is way easier to fix so we can see where you went wrong. You have done an excellent job of labeling things on your sheet and the example of your hit points is a very good one (I could see you used mod instead of score so I could easily point out the problem).
