Post Character Sheets Here! (Archived, Closed 1/12/18)

Gary M said: Fnakd said: I have read the Basic Rules/FAQ. I have read the New Player Checklist. I have downloaded the Portable Compendium or have access to the Online Compendium. Below is a link to my character sheet which I have made using the above resources. https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1232628 Welcome to the Guild! You put your +1 bonus to will in your statistic block, but did not include it in your defenses You took improved initiative but did not improve your initiative The check bonus from Heavy Shield is -2 not -1. You need to label what your weapon is (Aecris Dagger +1 for example) You need to label what your armor is (Supporting Scale +1 for example) You need to total the cost of your gear and your heavy shield does not cost anything (it is mundane) You need to label your damage workspace. Also you want to use 2 things with different numbers for your attack and damage workspaces. In your case that would be Melee Basic Attack and Shove and Slap. You have warforged Resolve listed twice under powers and I'm not sure why. Your character has no personality, no background, no mannerisms. It needs to be more than a sheet with stats on it to be approved. Program a personality into this war machine. You did not select a theme or background. While neither is required they can offer you some additional options, resources, powers and flavor to round out your character. Please respond to this post and address these issues in list format. 1. I have put the +1 will under misc not sure if it is the right place 2. Done 3. have changed it to -2 4. Done 5. Done. 6. Check and check 7. Done 8. No idea why it was there twice 9. The war machine does now have a program personality 10. Background chosen Question: Where can i find themes
Red.Matthew said: Gary M said: Red.Matthew said: Gary M said: 1. I have no idea how I did that, should be correct now. 2. Mathed 3. Also mathed 4. Fixed, I think 5. Fixed, was probably looking at plate 6. Fixed 7. Neat, swapped. 8. Believe I fixed this. 9. Fixed 10. I'm dumb, dropped it all together till I'm more familiar with the system. 11. Fixed 12. As in item 10, dropped. https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1233495 <---New sheet link, started from scratch and used what I learned (I hope). Still trying to find more than a headshot for a Half-Orc with a flail Starting over with a new sheet means there are new more different problems. So I'm going to evaluate this as a a complete new one. Array. While your current array is technically legal, it is worse than it could be. You want to give your level up bumps to your highest stat because that is how to get the most out of point buy. For example if you started with 15 dex on your array and added your racial and level 4 bonus to it, you would have 2 points instead of 1 to put to other stats (you could for example have both 13 con and wis if you wanted). It would give you identical numbers all the way across the board, but also give you an extra point to spend in either con, int or cha. Unstoppable Advance is not a level 1 daily attack power. It is a level 2 daily utility power. You cannot have 2 level 2 utility powers and you also need to have a level 1 daily attack power. Expertise: Flail is not what you want. You are looking for Flail Expertise. Check the New Player Checklist link for Expertise feats if you don't get why I'm making the distinction. You don't have a theme for some reason? The only thing you did wrong previously was give yourself an additional U2 (its an option you don't just get it). Everything else was fine. Your new character has no way to communicate (no languages). You spent money on a shortbow and heavy shield. I don't know why as it was one of the things specifically listed as a fix last time. You do not need to spend money on these mundane pieces. Also I have no idea why you have a shortbow. I am not sure why you stopped filling out Threatening Rush on your attack workspace. I would highly recommend instead using Shield Edge Block as your second entry for attack/damage workspace and your melee basic attack as your first. Getting closer. Repost and reply to each of these issues in list format please. 1. Need a Wisdom of 13 for one of my Feats, hence that (shield defense). 2. Page 9 of Martial Powers 2, Unstoppable Advance is listed under Level 1 Daily's there and in the portabl compendium, unless I spelled something wrong? 3. Fixed 4. I figured I'd skip out on this until I was more comfortable with the system, maybe do it on the next character when I know more about what I'm doing and not just another fighter running around. 5. Fixed, bork 6. Didn't get a magical shield this time, realized I'd doubled up on magical Arm slots last time. Shortbow because it was cheap and one should always have a ranged weapon on hand, no? 7. Not sure why I did that either, changed it out as suggested. Strength+2 to attack, wasn't sure if I was to stack the +2 on top of Abil or put it in MISC, so, I put it in Misc I think you are missing my point. You can get Wis 13 to start with at level 1 and also get more if you change up how you level things up. Look at what I said again and if it doesn't make sense contact me on skype or ask in guild chat. That was my mistake. I was confusing Unstoppable Advance with Unstoppable. Ignore this Check K Check K. Also if you want a ranged weapon and you have a shield you really don't want a shortbow. Changing from sword and shield to using a bow and back basically means you do nothing for most of the combat. If you want a ranged option, pick something you can use 1 handed and/or something you can throw (like a javelin). Damage is incorrect on Shield Edge Block. It should also be noted that with your high Dex you will likely eventually want to switch to Hide Armor as it allows you to have dex added to your defenses. Right now Hide and Scale provide the same benefit for you, but that will likely not be the case at higher levels. Nothing to correct, just something to think about. 1. Sorted 6. Swapped for Javelins, one handed. 7. Not sure where I went wrong? The layout for the card is odd, in that the damage is at the bottom, with the 2d6+Strength (4, in this case), as it's a melee strike the Iron Armbands would throw another +2 atop that, I believe. Which I failed to put in, sorted, I believe. 8. Noted. Add a background as well as a theme as discussed. You did not give yourself the bonuses to Insight and Perception from your theme. Also you will want to label what you got form your background (Bluff Class Skill) Since these are very minor things and the rest is correct, I'll add you a journal entry. Hit Join Game and you will see a journal entry waiting for you to make macros. Also remember to add your character to the census so you don't get caught up by the purge.

Background chosen Question: Where can i find themes Works Check Check Check Check Check Your Attack and damage workspace are not correct for Shove and Slap. Specifically because Shove and Slap does not have the weapon keyword so you do not get the enhancement bonus or any properties/damage dice/etc from your weapon. So your class bonus, prof bonus, feat bonus and enh bonus all do not apply. Check Check You seem to have taken training in Both Thievery and Athletics from your background. This is not correct. Please refer to the link in the New Player Checklist about what you get from your background. You also need to label what you chose to get from your background once you make that choice. Character Themes are listed in the compendium. In the place where you pick general categories, select Character Themes. You may take any theme for which you meet the pre-requisites.

Your Array. It is very highly recommended to put your primary ability (your highest stat) in your attack stat (Wisdom). Also it is highly recommended for newer players to use one of the standard arrays and/or pick a race that gets a bonus to their primary attribute. While any one of these might not be an issue, all of them together may make this much less fun for you as your ability to hit and do cool things will be diminished. You are not required to change it, this is just advice from a long-time player. Your hit points appear to be incorrect. Could you please break down the calculation you used for it? Your surges per day are incorrect. Versatile Expertise needs to be labeled what you took it in. Also it is almost never a good plan but I'm going to assume you read the post on expertise feats and specifically chose not to take one of the ones designed for you for a reason. Feywild Protection is a paragon tier feat which requires you to be at least level 11. You do not qualify for this feat, please choose another. You are wearing cloth, you do not have an armor bonus (you have it listed as 1) While you are welcome to use a longsword you are only using one of your hands. If you want to be more defensively oriented you might want to put something defensive (like a Rhythm Blade Dagger) in the other hand or use a two-handed weapon. You do not have to hold your holy symbol in your hand to use it. This is not a correction but a clarification, keep in mind the power from your holy symbol can only be used with an attack where you use that implement, so the only attacks you can use it on are Radiant Vengeance and Oath of Consuming Light You seem to have 1 too many trained skills. Religion +3 from your base class, Eladrin Education for +1 and Scholar for +1. I think what you did is improperly give yourself training in History from your background. Backgrounds give access to the given skill as a class skill (so a choice to pick from not training in that skill). Please respond to this post and address these issues in list format. Thank you! 1. Fixed (Changed array to 18/14/11/10/10/8) 2. Fixed (I changed my constitution score early on and forgot to change my hitpoints) (11 + 14 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6) 3. Fixed (same reason as above) 4. Which expertise feat is specific to me? I've looked through the post a couple of times and I don't quite see it, I don't know if I'm blind, or... I don't see one in the obscure list, are you talking about heavy blade, or holy symbol? 5. Fixed (Did not see that... chose a different feat fey duelist) 6. Fixed (misread) 7. While i wouldn't have the gold for a rhythm blade, i really like the idea of the dagger in the off-hand, however i don't quite know how dual wielding works mechanically. If I were to get a small rundown of it, i might do a cursed dagger, but I don't have the money for a defensive magic weapon (like rhythm blade). 8. Thank you, does the bonus still take effect my attack and damage work space, right now it is under the misc tab. 9. Fixed (And that is what i did improperly) (so adding +2 to history would be correct? instead of making it an option to be trained in.)

Fixed (And that is what i did improperly) (so adding +2 to history would be correct? instead of making it an option to be trained in.) I'm going to rewrite a section of the New Player Checklist to address this array issue because I have to say it too often. When you level up your +1 bumps to stats should always go to your highest stats. The reason for this is because if you want them to go to something else, a low stat like Con, you could change your starting array and end up with more points to spend. For example if you wanted your array to be the way that it is you could change the starting array to 18/13/12/11/10/8 and give your level 4 bump to Int instead of con. The net result of that would be that your final stats all stay the same, but you have a con of 12 instead of 11 (Currently you have 10/11/13/16/19/8 as your stats, with the change you would have 10/12/13/16/19/8 as your stats. Identical, just more Con at no detriment to you at all). Check, although if you make the change in 1 that will add a hit point to your total. Check, although also refer to 1. Usually the big thing is Mighty Crusader Expertise. Mostly because you have no real reason to use a 1 handed weapon (unless you want to be very defensive as I mentioned earlier). Right now the only difference between using a longsword and using a greatsword is that the greatsword does more damage. Keep in mind that your Feyborn Pursuer and Fey Duelist feats work directly against one another. You will only be able to benefit from one or the other during a given combat. Check I was trying to come up with a reason why you wouldn't wield a 2-handed weapon. For an avenger there is no reason to really dual-wield as they do not have any powers that allow them to attack with 2 weapons. I don't understand what you mean, but you do seem to have a misc +1 to everything right now and you should not have that. Your holy symbol will only benefit you with implement attacks and your weapon is for weapon attacks. You will never have a case where you use both the magic from your weapon and the magic from your holy symbol on the same attack or damage rolls. I don't know why you have a 1 feat bonus to damage rolls on either power or a 1 misc bonus to damage rolls on either power. Correct, you could say (+2 History) after your background to make it clear what benefit you took.

When you do your Attack and Damage workspaces you want to pick 2 different things. For you, Eldritch Blast and Melee Basic Attack. Please label your powers by level and type. Ethereal Stride (U2) for example. While it is not wrong, the feat Imperious Majesty is strictly better for you than Improved Initiative (It also stacks if you eventually choose to take both). You do not need to change this, but I also don't see a reason not to take Imperious. Please breakdown your expenses in coins and other wealth You have not taken a theme or a background. While neither are required it does add a little bit of depth, flavor and power to your character to help round them out. All of the feedback I have for you is labeling, preferences and optional stuff so I'm going to go ahead and give you a journal entry. When you are ready hit "Join Game" and you will see a journal waiting for you to start your macros. Take a moment to also add yourself to the census and OK yourself for the purge.

7. have now changed it 10. done 11. thanks

And it is now saved I feel reasonably certain you changed some other stuff as well. I don't remember seeing Armor Prof: Plate as one of your feats. I think you swapped out Improved initiative for it, but left the benefit of improved initiative. If you are going to change a bunch of stuff other than what things from direct feedback, letting me know would be really appreciated. As is, please remove the initiative bonus. Also you likely want to put the side effect of Heavy Blade Expertise in conditionals. 7. Check 10. No. You need to read what it says. I am going to paste it here for you to read directly from the post: " If what you're picking is an associated skill, you must: 1) Pick ONE skill. You do not get bonuses from all the skills in the list, just one skill of your choice 2) Choose whether you get: +2 bonus to your chosen skill, OR your chosen skill counts as a class skill for you (you must still spend one of your trained skill slots on it)" 11. Check. Fix the things listed and repost. Also please denote when you make additional changes before getting approved so we can make sure things continue to make sense.

I hope this is correct.

1. Fixed it 2. Fixed 3. Changed. Was not aware of that feat. 4. Fixed 5. Took the Bloodsworn Theme. Still working on a background. Not sure what the background adds other than flavor. 6. Got my journal updated with picture and macros. Should be good to go if everything checks out. Thanks!

You need to include your level up bumps and your racial stat bumps (even though I know Bugbear doesnt get a choice) in your stat block. You need to equip your armor and neck in your defenses. This would be putting in your enhancement bonuses to those defenses in the appropriate place in the Enh column. This character also needs some sort of backstory / personality / etc. Basically he needs to be a character and not a stat sheet. Fill in your Base EXP I noticed you picked a background but did not choose a theme. You are welcome to do so at any time (including after character creation and after mulligan range). This is not a correction but a reminder. Really solid first post. Basically once your character is updated to have a personality and not naked you will be good to go.

I think you gave yourself a misc +1 bonus to AC and Reflex instead of giving yourself a shield bonus (The fiddle gives you a shield bonus which goes in the 'shield' spot on your defenses) One of the primary problems with multiple things on this sheet is typed bonuses. 2 bonuses of the same type never stack. So Bard of All Trades and Jack of All Trades give 'feat' bonuses to skills. Having both of them does not raise it by both, but only by the highest of the two (so on your character Jack of All Trades does nothing). Same thing goes for Skald's Armor and Amulet of Seduction. You might want to make some quite different choices. Also, if you are making a bunch of things that all add to skills, I would highly recommend writing out all those bonuses somewhere so you know what goes where (I normally put it either in my last power slot, in my conditionals, or at the bottom of my background). Vision Low-Light goes in Special Senses You are missing an expertise feat. Please refer to the Checklist if you do not know what I mean (Hint: There is a link) Also Check around the 19 minute mark on the walkthrough video. You did not attempt to fill out your attack and damage workspace. I would refer to the video again at around the 40 minute mark as something that will walk you through what you need to do. We can't fix anything if there is nothing there to fix. You want to write down what kind of armor your Armor is (For Example Shimmering Cloth Armor or Dwarven Plate Armor) as well as the enhancement of each of your items with an enhancement (For Example Amulet of Life +2). Also please be aware that Bracers of *the* Perfect Shot only apply to ranged basic attacks (Which for you means Eldritch Blast and nothing else). At the bottom please break down your magic items by cost not location. In general you will never need to put down where you got anything as the answer should ALWAYS be "the compendium". You listed 2 mechanical backgrounds and I'm not sure why. You also either took something from both or took both from one of them. Please follow the link on the checklist to see how mechanical backgrounds function and what you get from them. You have not selected a character theme. While they are not mandatory they are an option for you that adds a bit of depth and power to your character. Given the traditional feel of your Tiefling I would suggest taking a look at Infernal Prince, Devil's Pawn and Demon Spawn in particular. Please address these issues in list format and repost.

Check I see where the issue is. You do not add your MOD but your SCORE to starting HP. Thus your starting HP would be 12+12=24 then your extra for levels. Check Check You did not really do anything with this section yet. You want to pick 2 powers and go from there. So Melee Basic Attack and Eldritch Blast for instance. That might be the most awkward way to label them but it technically works. Also you need to equip your leather armor by putting the armor bonus from leather in the section of the sheet where armor goes (so you get it to your AC) Check Your starting gold - The total of the gold in your magic item section =/= The result in Coins and Other Wealth. Please fix this. From the Post on Mechanical Backgrounds: "Regardless of how many background elements you use, when you create a character you can (with your DM’s consent) select one of the following background benefits: ✦ Gain a +2 bonus to checks with one skill associated with your background. You have not added your bonus from your character theme at level 5.

Did not know they didn't stack, ok. My bard of all trades and skill versatility stack though, right? Other than that, fixed. 3. Yeah, it felt sorta weird doing it like I was. Fixed 4. Fixed, accidentally added an extra level Check Versatility Stacks. Looks like you have +4 Untrained, +4 Diplomacy, +4 Bluff, +2 Nature, +2 Thievery, +2 History. You do not get a +1 Arcana from the Fiddle (you get a bonus to checks for rituals, which may or may not be arcana and there are a lot of arcana checks made for non-ritual things). You also did not include your extra +2 Bluff/Diplomacy from your theme. Nor did you denote the extra ability you gain for those skills at level 5 anywhere on your sheet. Staggering Note's Damage expression is incorrect. Enhancement bonus applies only to damage rolls and there is no roll in Staggering Note for damage. Check 2: Fixed the arcana thing, and are we looking at the same theme? I don't see +2 bluff/diplomacy on harper agent anywhere. And I added the things i get from the harper pin on my sheet 3: Fixed the damage, but on the fiddle, it says the enhancement is on both attack and damage rolls 2. I had the wrong theme open. 3. It does. Staggering Note has an attack roll. Staggering Note does not have a damage roll. This is the point I was making. You are basically good to go, so I'll add you a journal entry.

I have read the Basic Rules/FAQ. I have read the New Player Checklist. I have downloaded the Portable Compendium or have access to the Online Compendium. Below is a link to my character sheet which I have made using the above resources. https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1231784 Welcome to the Guild! Errors are by no means a problem Cerulean. We expect people to get shit wrong. The primary thing we want people to do is to attempt every part of things and read the stuff we suggest. Did you watch the video walkthrough when you made your character? Warlocks are identified by their pact. So Fey Pact Warlock or Warlock (Fey Pact) instead of Deceptive. Your hit point total is quite off. Please break down how you got to that number. Done. Thank you! I think I fixed it. 12 + CON mod (+1) for first level and +5 for each additional level (+20 for levels 2-5). Done. Done. Chose White Lotus Dueling Expert. I'm sorry I missed that whole section. I think I fixed it and also amended the bonuses under the "quick look up" section as well. Please let me know if I'm off. Done. I think Wavestrider Boots are the only item without a bonus to note. Thanks! Removed it. Fixed. This was a mistake. I had added the proper skill check bonuses but the info was wrong in the "Background & Other Notes section." Fixed it now to reflect just one background: Hellfire Heir. Thank you. Selected one. I'll probably be tweaking the character bio some to give her some more depth. I hope that's okay to do. Please let me know if it's not. You have not added your bonus from your character theme at level 5. 2. Fixed. Hit points now include constitution score not modifier for first level. 5. I think I fixed this. However, I'm not sure if Eldritch Blast would use Charisma or Dexterity as the ability. Eldritch Blast is a ranged basic attack, but it's also an arcane power. Please let me know if this is incorrect, and I'll fix it. 6. I cleaned up the labeling. Also, AC should be correct now that I added +2 for leather armor. 8. Fixed. Including adventurer's pack and the magical items only. The calculations in coins/other wealth should be correct now. 9. Fixed. Removed the +2 to Religion and kept the +2 to Arcana. 10. Fixed. I added the level 5 bonus and the conditional attack modifier. Also, I see there's an optional level 2 utility power. Should I add that to the powers list?

Max: Looks pretty good. One quick thing: please place the usage type and the level next to each of your powers (encounter 3, for instance). Additionally, Please put your theme under your class features section and list off the benefits you get at each level for it. Considering these are minor issues, I shall bestow upon you a sheet.

I suggested doing *Melee* Basic Attack and Eldritch Blast specifically because they are different and because having Ranged Basic Attack listed is probably useless as you will always choose to use Eldritch Blast as your Ranged Basic attack. However, that being said, your work space is incorrect. You do not get proficiency to attack on implement based attacks. Please fix this. 6. Check 8. Check 9. Check 10. Check. The optional power is something you can choose to take instead of other choices for your powers of that level. So you can take that power if you want, however you will lose Beguiling Tongue if you choose to do so. As you have only 1 problem left and it is pretty minor I am going to give you a journal entry. Hit the Join Game button and start working on your macros. If you have questions or need help, ask in Skype Chat. Make sure to also add your character to the Census. Once you have finished poke people in the Skype chat and/or this chat to check your work and move to the next step in the process.
