Hel said: Why is it that when creating a character, that the stat bonuses are now +1 to three different ones, as opposed to the +2 and +1 they should be? Can this be reverted back, because during the beta period it was still the +2 +1 Hi Hel, The rules state you can use +2 and +1 or +1, +1, and +1.  Although I do agree the current setup is a bit unclear on that and confusing.  Edit, rules quote:  "Ability Scores. A background lists three of your character’s ability scores. Increase one by 2 and another one by 1, or increase all three by 1. None of these increases can raise a score above 20."
Bianca said: Hey folks, I was out sick so apologies for not posting yesterday's update: September 24 VTT Compendium Updates: Tokens dragged onto the map in a game that primarily uses the D&D 2014 character sheet as the primary sheet are now populating the correct token information. Sorry. this one has been eluding us for months. Thank you for your patience. The drag-and-drop functionality is still in progress regarding games using the new D&D 2024 as the primary sheet. The compendium pop-out window for D&D 2024 content now has the extra headers, toolbars, footers, and calls to action removed from the window. Hopefully, this will make it easier to read the information in those windows now.  D&D 2024 Character Sheet & Builder Updates: Ability Score minimums (e.g. Belt of Giant Strength, Headband of Intellect) now apply when you drag & drop applicable items on your sheet Updated drag & drop of non-D&D 5E (2024) content so AC bonuses are recognized and applied You can now drag and drop weapon masteries for specific weapons (e.g. "Dagger Weapon Mastery") Thank you - hope you are feeling better.
Weapons not populating on the Combat section:  I added weapons several times but they won't populate in the combat section anymore.  This feature was working all the way up until today.
Just tried it, and it worked for me. Are you sure you're copying the item, and not the proficiency or mastery entry? Mr. DM said: Weapons not populating on the Combat section:  I added weapons several times but they won't populate in the combat section anymore.  This feature was working all the way up until today.
Updating this - dragging weapons in DOES add it to the inventory but DOES NOT add it under the ATTACK. Dragging masteries DOES seem to work as well. Dragging in TOOL PROF from compendium does NOT seem to work.  Devon said: Opportunities for improvement: (1) Cannot drag and drop from compendium into character sheet. Skills, weapons, nothing work as the old system did.  (2) Taking the Skilled origin feat does not enable you to select the skills in the Skills section. It does not give you the option. RE-VERIFIED (3) Clicking out of the character sheet (for example pressing the setting edit button to update picture or etc) while in charactermancer clears the page and deletes everything. This should not happen. (4) No language selection section is available during creation, this should be added. (5) Level up button doesnt work, so that is not functional. (6) Proficiencies with tools should default to Query Attribute, not blank. Currently it just adds nothing and adds PB unless you directly edit it. (7) Print function is a must here as well, I am sure not the #1 item but it needs to be functional later.
Bug report you still can't make a forest gnome,  or i can't at least, when you get to the point where you select which ability to use for your innate cantrip and spell, there's no box to chose from, it appears on the rock gnome but not the forest gnome, obviously it then doesn't follow through any further, so your innate magical abilities don't transfer to the sheet

Still working on the same thri-kreen fighter.  Creating custom entry of Psi Warrior build, but cannot add Psychic Resistance to Defenses.  Clicking save does nothing after setting up the Resistance entry.  Are Resistances controlled with some backend lookup/validation elsewhere on the character sheet? Also found that Protective Field and Indomitable Reactions offer a Roll field, but any bonuses to the die type entered in that field are ignored and only the base die is rolled.
Dragging weapons from the compendium to the inventory, DOES add it to the attack. You have to make sure that the little switch to indicate it is equipped is toggled on, though. Sometimes it is when you drop the weapon into the inventory, sometimes it isn't. Devon said: Updating this - dragging weapons in DOES add it to the inventory but DOES NOT add it under the ATTACK. Imagine - What if….. Roll20, instead of trying to build a bridge to 2024 on their existing platform (which is struggling to compete).  Got their best and brightest (Developers, Designers and CUSTOMERS), along with some hired guns from the outside.  Spent a week in a room with white boards and totally redesigned a brand new platform, based on the following rules.  Rule 1.  The new design should be GM centric, meaning - MAKE THE GM HAPPY. Rule 2.  It will NOT be backward compatible - no constraints!!!! Rule 3.  Create a Modders paradise - Create a robust and open API and use free labor to extend the capabilities of the platform.   Rule 4. Quality Control - Implement proven QC processes  Rule 5. Engage - Don’t hide behind a forum wall to interact with players - engage in all the social media platforms available. Rule 6. Love your GMs - they pay the $ and bring the Players.   - Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda
The builder failed to ask me to choose a giant ancestry when building a Goliath(2024) character. The description on the sheet is also incomplete:
Next attempt: I tried to create a Tiefling(2024) wizard character, with one of the Strixhaven backgrounds. However, although a lot of the 2014 backgrounds appeared in the character builder, none of the Strixhaven backgrounds did. I checked the settings, and the Strixhaven book is one of the sources loaded.
I can't reply with a quote for some reason. If the rules are it can be +2 and +1 or three +1s, why can't I do it either way? Right now if I click strength I can't click it again
UPDATE: Found weapon masteries and SUBSPECIES lineages in small sub menus under drop downs. Not very clean, but now that I know I get it. (8) After selecting a background, it notes a dropdown of where the origin feat should be titled/named, but it is not there. It only shows up in the Feats tab. It should be at least named here. (9) Starting EQT and $ doesn't seem to populate or give you the option to choose between $ or EQT? I'm reading all the bugs reports and many do not accour to me, it seems that problems are quite random, the ugliest thing for me is that once the character is created, somehow it is not saved and after few hours I just get blanck sheet

When will the conversion tool be done? I can't add the new spells to over 500 character sheets (including NPCs and creatures) because they're on the "old sheet". No timeline beyond "Fall" is ridiculous. The system is barely usable with new rules as is. Dynamic lighting is the ONLY thing keeping me from switching to another VTT.
If by “blank sheet” you mean the splat page for character creation, try hitting “Edit Sheet Directly.” Some folks have had some luck with that… Crico said: I'm reading all the bugs reports and many do not accour to me, it seems that problems are quite random, the ugliest thing for me is that once the character is created, somehow it is not saved and after few hours I just get blanck sheet

Is the disastrous launch of this sheet keeping literally everyone at roll20 too busy to keep the site safe and usable? There's spam bots creating threads that flood subforums and stay there for hours - as of posting, some have stayed up for 6 hours. I don't know if it's the Discord integration or the basic sign-up verification that's too weak, but daily surge of spam threads is quickly becoming endemic to this forum if nothing is done about it. Half the non-pinned threads on the forum front page are spam. This is a serious issue.

Though built a Goliath - with 15+1 str and 14+1+1 dex but ends with 15 dex? Selecting stats to increase only showed 3 options - same 3 in all 3 boxes... not sure why

I suspect that these attributes are not used internally in the sheet, but only read values given by the sheet - and so cannot affect what happens in the sheet. This results in a significant loss in function. Beacon was a mistake. Setting current HP using the attribute hp is in QA and should probably be out by the end of the week. The sheet builds most of the other attributes, such as AC, on a series of dozens of small pieces of information. That's made updating the number from the token difficult without just completely overriding all the information that builds your character and breaking all the automation on the sheet. We're starting work on making all the attributes unlocked for editing next week.
Josh M. said: Also, I'm still seeing character sheets getting wiped.  That's just awful. We're trying to track this down. Do you mind sending in a Help Request to a link with your game? And can you include if it removes the character's name, too? Thank you!

Why is it that this sheet disables attributes that were inherent in non-beacon sheets? Beacon was a mistake.

I finally found it. For selecting the Warlock Invocations: after choosing and confirming your class, on the screen where you are able to increase the level, click the down arrow and there will be an option to select the invocation. For 1st level, you have to scroll waaaay down to see to it. It's un-intuitive and easily missed. It should be moved to it's own screen or the same place as where the fighter chooses their fighting styles/feats. Saul J. said: I don't see it. I don't know where you're talking about - I don't see ANYTHING ANYWHERE for adding invocations on ANY screen. And there's no level up because it's not done yet. The sheet just says "coming soon". Sadly you have to go into Giant Ancestry, as your image then click edit and scroll down.  I think - now I have chosen it it is gone, and nothing says which I chose there, it only shows in Combat where the (in this case) Fire's Burn was added. Issues for Bianca ...or someone else on Roll20 team ... When you have options, you really need to have the choice taken shown, not just 'oh you get to choose.. and have chosen' Added a Battleaxe (does automatically get added as an attack, which is a step forward), and the Damage button on the chat output for attack does not work (a step back) - damage from combat part of char sheet does work.  Also there's no button for the Fire's Burn damage and of course adding [[1d10]] to the text does not roll.

Josh M. said: But seriously, I strongly suggest a tutorial video.  The sheets work for me, more or less, but there was a major learning curve. First thought: They can't do this as things do not work Second thought: It would allow them to discover the bugs (and poor design?) Third thought: They could only use publically released content final thought: Would be annoyingly slow... take a lot of time .. time better sent maing 2014 sheet work with 2024 content! Also the Roll20 staff might get frustrated by the constant loss of what they are trying to do when they accidentally touch outside the scroll area when scrolling... AND FIx IT?
Automation at the cost of access and customization is never a good trade in roleplaying games. It's downright antithetical. Beacon was a mistake.
Not sure if raised already but the 'Damage' option in chat when using a weapon seems to break after first usage or rather after interacting with other things on the sheet. I've attached a screenshot of the error, seems like from your source code Br.integrantStore.resolver is getting set to undefined, might be a cleanup / work flow issue within the code.
The new character sheets don't allow level-up processes from charactermancer to work. It was disappointing to find out mid-campaign last night, and I am trying to help all my adventurers out by increasing their levels, adding passives, etc. Is there any way to change to the old version of the character sheets? Also is there no way to import characters from your "vault" into the game? Seems like a missed opportunity. If not, can I transfer my game from the new Jumpgate version to the old one? There are so many problems with the new tabletop it's hard to imagine any QA was done. My Chrome users had Massive lag. In a lot of cases, their character sheets won't open. Often they would lose character info upon refresh. Most of the new changes look half-fleshed out and are causing more issues than they are worth.

Good luck wherever you end up.

So did we ever get a reason for why 2024 content can't work with the 2014 sheets? Or why they released a barely working sheet with no features?

The new D&D 5E Player’s Handbook (2024) has been released, along with updates to the character sheet and builder. The sheet is officially out of Beta, featuring a compact layout and support for mod scripts. You can now mix and match 2024 and 2014 rules in character creation. The builder remains in Beta as more features are being added. Feedback is welcome, and more updates, like level-up capabilities and equipment support, are coming soon.
I am trying like hell to figure out if there is ANY way to level up a character using the new sheet? Even if it means dragging and dropping features into the sheet manually? I've managed (through significant trial and error) to recreate a character from the 2014 sheet and have been (mostly) successful. However, advancing a level has COMPLETELY stumped me. I can use the gear icon to add a class level, but it doesn't seem to actually do anything. Nor can I figure out how to add a class feature like level 2 Eldritch Invocations manually. Any help?
