Old Character Sheet Thread (Locked Apr 2020)

Han S. said: Check. Check. Check. You are not incorrect, but I was referring to the second line - choosing one of orbs, staffs, wands or rods as an implement. Check. Your Raven's Feather is a mundane item and its cost can be waived. See Level and Gold under Basic Rules. Check. Check. 4. I have selected "Wand" and recorded the choice in the Feats section. 6. I have adjusted the total currency and recorded mundane equipment in the "Magic Items and Equipment" section. Thank you for your assistance!

Your Ignition to-hit in your Quick Lookup seems like it is one too high, as both Incendiary Dagger and Eagle Eye Goggles do not apply a bonus to hit on them. Please mark your Ability 1 in your Attack/Damage Workspace as Elemental Bolt, as the given calculation is correct only for it. I would also ask you make your Ability 2 Ignition, as the calculations for it is far more relevant for your character than an MBA will be. Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. Using phrasing like "Fixed" or "Done" is not recommended as it still forces a DM to search through your sheet to see what was changed.

Updated my calculations to state eagle eye goggles are only for RBAs. And 2: 2. Updated attack/damage workspace to be for both sorcerer at wills, with the modification of one less to hit for Ignition. I didn't realize that since Elemental Bolt is an RBA, the other should be an at will.

I didn't realize that since Elemental Bolt is an RBA, the other should be an at will. Check. Check. And strictly speaking it's not necessary that the attack/damage workspaces be two at-wills, they're more meant to be two things with different calculations. I mostly asked for Ignition because as an Elementalist you could very well go entire levels without ever making an MBA. When you hit Launch Game you will find a journal in the top right corner. If you have not yet joined us on Discord, we can be found here : https://discord.gg/6FGGhfV 1) At the top right, please fill out this characters current XP 2) Under Quick Look Up, please tag your armor as Heavy. That will prevent the automated functionality of mythweavers to add the highest of your characters Dexterity or Intelligence modifier to the AC calculation. Then, under class bonus for that AC calculation, add the passive benefit of the Earthstrength class feature to your AC calculation. 3) Please re-read Step 8 of the New Player Checklist. Crushing Earthstrength is not a listed feat for that free slot. After you're done with that, the attack work space will also need to be adjusted. 4) Your character lacks the prerequisites for the Minotaur Soul feat 5) Minotaur Weapon Talent brings your character no benefit whatsoever, as the chosen class already is proficient in the use of all the weapons that MWT gives proficiency in. 6) Please select a damage type for your Armor of resistance, and list that one on your sheet. 7) That is not a legal starting array. Please check, we've listed them all in the new player checklist. Optionally, you can select the benefit of a mechanical background, as well as a character theme. Neither of those is mandatory, but they could grant you more power or flavor. If you do select one or both of those, please list them under Class Features. Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. We strongly urge you to have an 18 in the ability score your character uses to attack. With a +7 vs Fortitude, your character is bound to miss a lot, and as a consequence, you might not enjoy playing this character. 3) Please fill out the check penalty box under Quick Look Up. 4) I would not recommend a bag of holding. You can spend your characters gold how you see fit, but in my years of playing in the Guild I have never seen practical use for it. 5) Under Coins and Wealth please provide a breakdown of your expenses. Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. According to your breakdown at least, you do not seem to actually have a Badge of the Berserker, so please either remove it or mark it as a planned purchase. Your second workspace calculation seems to be for an improvised ranged basic attack, but I do not quite see the point of this when you have a handaxe. I believe your planned level 11 feat is Blurring Claws instead of Blurred Claws. You cannot choose a multiclass power for your Reserve Maneuver power. See Minor Rulings. Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. I drop it after using it and start wielding the two hander. 3: Right you are, keep getting those two mixed up. Changed it. 4: Switched it to Novice Power.

Removed the feat Minotaur Soul. 5. Removed the feat Minotaur weapon talent 6. Selected damage type for my armor of resistance (Fire) and wrote it down. 7. Picked a legal starting array. 8. Chose a mechanical background, as well as a character theme. Hopefully this is done right. Thanks for helping me! At 1 : seems like a minuscule thing, but we want to know if you can work this out. The current XP of a level 5 character is not 0. At 2 : check At 3, 4, 5 : check At 6 : check At 7 : check At 8 : with your chosen background please list the benefit your character draws from that. You can select one of those associated skills as a class skill, to be trained instead of your standard class skills, or gain a +2 to one of those two skills. 1. Changed current xp counter to 5500. 8. Noted my backround under race features. Wrote down de bonus next to it (+2 endurance). I will set you up with a journal. When you hit Launch Game you will find this journal in the top right corner. Our second video also covers this. Please fill it out using the templates provided. When that is done, contact one of our DMs (see the welcome channel on discord). They can then make you a token. Don't forget to add this character to the census.

Please include your starting experience (5500). In the 'Statistic Block', please place a break down of your current ability scores, i.e. the array you started with, the racial bonus to stats, and what stats you chose to boost at level 4. Please place your armor's enhancement bonus in your defenses. I am going to guess that you combined the armor's innate bonus with its enhancement under armor bonus, but please list these bonuses separately. If this guess is wrong though, also please let me know what you were trying to do. For your Magic Items (under 'Magic Items & Equipment') please include the item's Enhancement Bonus as part of the item's name. For instance, for your Accurate Orb of Forceful Magic, please denote it as being +1. Please explain why your Accurate Orb of Forceful Magic's cost has +25 listed. Although the cost is correct, please note that your Armor of Dark Majesty is a level 4 item at +1, not level 3. In addition, please indicate what type of armor it is (e.g. Leather or Hide). You probably mean Cloak of Distortion as your neck slot instead of Distortions. Echoing Dirge is not a legal option as your third Human at-will, per Minor Rulings. Please include an explicit monetary breakdown of all of your purchases under 'Coins and Other Wealth'. (optional) You do not seem to have a mechanical Background, although you are not required to have one. Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. Using phrasing like "Fixed" or "Done" is not recommended as it still forces a DM to search through your sheet to see what was changed.

New Player Checklist Step 5 - Stat Array: You need to have a good reason not to put your highest number in your primary statistics (You have 14 Starting INT). Additionally from the same step, at LV4 you get +1 to two different statistics. Because 4e is a game of specialists, it's better to be good at few thing than mediocre at all things (I would suggest you start with 16 INT and WIS, 12 CON and DEX and then 10 and 8 in the other two) 2. Can you give me the math for your HP, I get a different result 3. Your Arcane Implement Mastery gives you a power, please also list the chosen mastery with it's full name 4. Please post an expenditure somewhere 5. You have too many or too few powers chosen. If you don't use the spellbook feature, you need to drop some powers. If you choose you use it, remember that spells are prepared at the start of day, not start of session, so you would need to make the choice before you have spoilers from for example the name of the session or other sources. This is the main reason why people choose to not use it, because they end up preparing the same spells always (the generically useful ones). This is a big change to campaigns where you have longer objectives and take extended rests between reaching those objectives. 6. I don't see you having any powers with the Healing Keyword, so Restful Healing does nothing on your character at this point 7. Your Attack and Damage workspaces need work, pages 274-279 in Player's Handbook 1 cover this Please take your time to review the above. That is the unfortunate nature of a Living Guild Campaign, you don't know who hires you when you wake up which is when you by the feature need to make the choice, sorry. Your choice means that you probably replace your LV1 feat with something else? 7. By "My Staff" I assume you mean Melee Basic Attack. If my assumption is correct, note that it is a weapon power you use with a staff (first and third paragraphs of Staff Expertise apply). Additionally Scorching Blast gets enhancement bonus of the implement you cast it through to attack and damage rolls. Additionally remember to apply Hellfire Blood when applicable (it is an untyped bonus, so it stacks with every other bonus). More on the subject here . So for attack rolls you should get three different numbers, one for powers where Hellfire Blood applies, one for Wizard powers where Hellfire Blood doesn't apply and one for Melee Basic Attack. Also I assume you mean Scorching Burst since Scorching Blast is not a power Please take your time to review the above. Apologies if this was unclear, but I mean specifically including your enhancement bonus to AC in the defenses box, and not putting it in Armor Bonus, if you were intending to do that. I ask for this because these are two separate bonuses that scale individually. 4. There's a few things that could use adjusting with this, and this is somewhat my fault for not being clearer the first time. a.) I believe you wrote down Circlet of Second Chances instead of your Casque of Tactics. b.) Your Cloak of Distortion does not give a +1 to saves. c.) You do not have enhancement written down for either your Cloak of Distortion or your Accurate Orb of Forceful Magic. d.) You do not need the level or the cost of the item in these lines because they can be inferred from the enhancement. You can also indicate enhancement by just placing the +1 (or whatever number) at the start or at the end of your item's name. So for instance, your "Armor of Dark Majesty LV 4 (840 GP) Leather Armor, +1 Enhancement", while completely correct, can just be written as "+1 Leather Armor of Dark Majesty", and similar writing can be done for your Cloak and your Orb. Items that scale by tier, like your Casque of Tactics, can be referred to similarly by tier (so "heroic" in this case) instead of enhancement. 9. Your starting gold is 4500, not 5500. 10. Unfortunately no, but to be clear, there is no particular expectation or requirement that your backstory follows your background's flavor text or vice versa. I would recommend deciding what specific mechanical benefit you wanted from Astronomer and choose another background that gives the same benefit.

1. Check. 2. Ability Score Set, as well as changed wholesale, since i found that tiefling worked a tiny bit better for the picture i wanted to use (Kinda hard to ignore the little horns on the side of her head.) this is on the sheet. 3. Item Enhancement Bonuses included, as well as Armor of Dark Majesty given the proper Level, and properly listed as a +1 Leather armor. 4:. See point 3 5. the +25 GP to the price of the Orb was just me being stupid and forgetting that this isn't D&D 3.pf, where everything seems to be made to be as inconvenient to the player as possible. 6. Armor of Dark Majesty given proper listing on all counts. 7. Cloak of Distortion Spelling Error fixed 8. Echoing Dirge no longer on list, though that also comes from me changing Agatha's Race wholesale to Tiefling. 9. Explicit Monetary breakdown included. 10. Mechanical Backstory Included: Astrologist. even though it fits what Agatha has done for most of her life, she unfortunately does not meet the "Must be Psionic" Prerequisite. is there any way we can work around this? 11. as mentioned before, Agatha's Race was changed from Human to Tiefling, with the requisite changes applying. Furthermore, minor tweaks to her ability score array. instead of 10, 13, 13, 15, 8, 16, it's now 8, 13, 14, 16, 10, 16. 12. Since Ritual Caster was removed, Agatha now no longer has her giant pile of divination rituals. 13. Agatha now also has an extra item. namely, a Casque of Tactics, LV 4. 1-2, 5-8, 11-13: Check. 3. 3. fixed that little blunder of mine 4. A. Fixed, it is now the proper name. 4.B. this one confuses me a little, since every version of "Cloak of Distortion" i could find had " Enhancement Bonus: Fortitude, Reflex, and Will," but if that's wrong, i'll just have to take your word for it. 4.C. Enhancement Bonuses written down. 4.D. i've seen your point, and have thusly simplified what is in the items section. 9. Starting Gold value fixed. i didn't have much issue since i had more than 1000 GP leftover anyway. 10. What i wanted from an Astronomer's Background was the Training in Arcana, so i went ahead and noted that down. thank you for being patient with me.

I think this might just be another case of edition terminology mixup (but I am not sure, since I've never played 3.x). Fortitude, Reflex and Will (also known as NADs, non-AC defenses) aren't directly tied to saves themselves, they're just different defenses you can make attack rolls against instead of AC. Saving throws in this edition are just a flat d20 (plus certain specific modifiers). So you should have the +1 enhancement bonus to each of your NADs, but they aren't called saves. Things that provide bonuses to saving throws will call themselves bonuses to saving throws--see the feat Resilient Focus for an example. 10. Backgrounds cannot actually give training in a skill. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. Using phrasing like "Fixed" or "Done" is not recommended as it still forces a DM to search through your sheet to see what was changed. 1. I normally start with my two most important stats at the same highest point. But, changed my final stats to (in order), 8, 12, 12, 19, 17, 12. And updated the stat array layout. 2. I completely botched the reading and used Healing Surges as HP/level (11+7+7+7+7). Fixed. Max HP is now 27 (11+4+4+4+4). 3. Added "Staff of Defense" to the next line over. Added "Staff of Defense" Power at the end of the Powers list. 4. Expenditure added to Session and Campaign Notes. 5. Ah, so you're not able to, say, prepare Sleep if I know it's going to be a stealthier mission? Okay. I've dropped Sleep, Web and Shield. 6. Switched Restful Healing for Improved Initiative (and subsequently added that bonus to Initiative) 7. I've made the first Ability represent my Staff, and the second represent Scorching Blast. Thank you! 1., 3., 4. & 6. Thanks 2. Starting HP uses Con Score, not Con Modifier, so +12 instead of +1 5. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. Using phrasing like "Fixed" or "Done" is not recommended as it still forces a DM to search through your sheet to see what was changed. 1., 3., 4., 6. Thank you! 2. Changed max HP to 38. 5. Eh, I get it. Switched Expanded Spellbook with Resilient Focus (+2 to all saves) 6. Changed my Attack and Damage Workspace. Added feat bonus to melee attack, added enhancement bonus to Scorching Burst. Added Melee Basic Attack to Powers. Changed "Blast" to "Burst." Hopefully I got that right. 2. & 5. Thanks 6. Hellfire Blood is a +1 bonus (compare to Staff Expertise's +1 feat bonus). The lack of this little word makes all the difference and they should be in the Misc box rather than the feat box (even though the bonus comes from a feat). All the bonuses that apply to a specific roll, you can add them all unless they specify the same word between the number and the word "bonus", in which case you take the higher of the two You can find the link to our discord on the New Player Checklist if you're not already there. You have a damage bonus class feature you haven't listed. Also Vampiric Reflexes is easier to denote as a class bonus. 2. New Player Checklist - Step 5: Please include your racial bonuses to stats somewhere. Also please read the bolded text on the step and check the accompanying link. 17/15/13/10/10/8 and 17/15/12/11/10/8 and 17/14/14/10/10/8 come to mind. 3. Please denote the levels you got your feats 4. You've skipped Step 9. Why do you have 4600 gp as your wealth? 5. Set EXP to 5500, set Armor Check Penalty to match the check penalty of your armor (zero if it doesn't have one) 6. Attack and damage workspaces are explained on pages 274-279 in Player's Handbook 1 7. Optional You are allowed to have the mechanical benefit of a theme and a background. These can give your character more power/flavor. Backgrounds are a long list with Arcane Student Who Saw Too Much and Auspicious Birth as common choices Please take your time to review the above. You do not seem to have a mechanical background listed, but your HP seems to indicate that you chose something like Auspicious Birth. Please mark down the background you chose if you did, preferably in 'Class / Path / Destiny Features' preferably . Please correct 'Neutral Jumper'. (The racial trait is 'Natural Jumper'.) Please take your time to review the above. When you are ready, please use the Quote function to include this message in your response. Let us know what, if anything, you changed about the sheet. Using phrasing like "Fixed" or "Done" is not recommended as it still forces a DM to search through your sheet to see what was changed.
I have read the Basic Rules/FAQ. I have read the New Player Checklist. I have downloaded the Portable Compendium or have access to the Online Compendium. Please ensure your name on roll20 and Discord match (and also match the Player name on the sheet). 2.Please list in your class features which Psionic Study your character follows. 3. Speed of Thought is not a lvl 1 encounter power. You could label it as level 0 if you like, but it is a feature. 4. Please calculate out your expenditures in your coins and other wealth section so the DM checking your sheet can easily see exactly how much money you spent on what easily. 5. Starting XP is 5500 6. Next to your mechanical background in race features please list what benefit you gain from your background.(looks like +2 Percep?) 7. Your HP looks wrong. What calculation did you do to determine it? 8. Please denote the number of power points you have somewhere obvious on your sheet. It will be important :-) 9. I do not see any daily attack powers from your class. You should have two. Please take your time to review the above. Check, and apologies on my part for missing number 6. 3. I saw it, I was saying it's by convention placed in 'Gold and Other Wealth' instead. It's not a big deal, though, so Journal it is. When you hit Launch Game you will find a journal in the top right corner. Our second video also covers this. Please fill it out using the templates provided. When that is done, contact one of our DMs (see the welcome channel on discord). They can then make you a token. Don't forget to add this character to the census.

In regards to inclusions of class features, including Psionic Study and Daily Powers, I figured out my mistakes and corrected them. 3. I realized the wording for HP calculation said Constitution Score, not modifier. That's on me. 4. The coins and wealth section now has a detailed list of expenditures. 5. Can you show the math for your HP and Healing Surges, I get different numbers 2. St EXP to 5500. Set armor check penalty to match your armors (zero if it has none). Set Armor bonus to match your armor and put it's enhancement bonus in the box labelled for it like you put your necklaces bonus. Label feats by the level you got them. Remember to add the free feat you got through your class features. Note that your class and theme features give you some powers that you don't yet have listed on the power boxes. Put your expenditure somewhere. Note that you don't currently fulfill the prereqs for Eldritch Fusillade Expertise 3. You're missing all the misc skill bonuses you have from various things. 4. Attack and damage workspaces are explained on pages 274-279 in Player's Handbook 1 5. You are allowed the benefits of a mechanical background . Common choices are Arcane Student Who Saw Too Much and Auspicious Birth Please take your time to review the above. Your quick look up should have two powers you are likely to use. A melee basic attack is fine, but battleminds often do not use those as their attack powers are better. You should have at least one more attack power in your quick look-up section. 11. You are wearing plate armor. Battleminds do not have proficiency in plate armor. You may wear armor with which you are not proficient, but you take a -2 penalty to attacks and reflex if you do so. I doubt this is your intention. I recommend either taking plate armor proficiency as a feat or switching to scale armor (I personally prefer the latter option). For more info, see your class entry and the glossary entry for "armor" in the compendium.
